Windows by Wilmer formed in August 2008 is the parent company of Colourfast Windows and Wilmer Windows

Windows by Wilmer is the umbrella bringing together two great companies to offer quality products and services to a wide area. The two companies have traded as double glazing windows doors and conservatories since the early 1980’s and have during this time weathered many storms still to survive to offer what they consider to be only the best in terms of product and service.

Colourfast Windows originally formed in 1983 still operates from it’s original base in Staveley supplying and fitting quality windows, doors and conservatories to the surrounding areas including Chesterfield , Worksop , Mansfield , Doncaster , Selby , Pontefract and Wetherby.

Eric Hollingworth the original founder of Colourfast windows still remains at the helm of this established company and whilst others have come and gone this company has remained steadfast in it’s quest to continue to offer quality service and products to its customers. Eric has 45 years experience in joinery , surveying and the manufacture of quality windows, doors and conservatories, and still holds fast his resolution to supply only the best products at the most competitive prices.

The office manager at Colourfast is Pauline Hall who has worked for the company since 1986. Pauline is still the voice of Colourfast dealing with all customer enquiries and after sales service; she is a true professional which is evidenced by her can do attitude by taking ownership of any problems as if they were her own.

Peter Chambers is the sales manager at Colourfast and has worked for the company since 1984 , he has over 30 years experience in this industry and he considers people with less experience to be a little wet behind the ears ! Peter’s wealth of knowledge and his meticulous attitude to his work means no stone is left unturned in pursuit of the right products for his customers, many of whom he considers as friends. There are two fitting teams at Colourfast and all are dedicated tradesmen who will leave no job short of perfect ; from arrival to departure you are guaranteed quality and service. Their combined service with Colourfast spans 50 years.

Mick Turner is the surveyor for Colourfast , a time served tradesman who commenced with the company in 1983 as a fitter. Mick has a wealth of knowledge to ensure that with even the most unlikely of projects he is able to make things happen the exacting standards demanded by our customers.

Wilmer Windows originally formed in the 1980’s as Alladin Windows was the brain child of Alan Wilmer; this most successful company was later sold to Portland Conservatories, a name well recognised for the supply of quality products in the conservatory industry.

Not content to sit back and relax, Alan formed Wilmer Windows in early 1992, operating from a Newcastle based showroom .Wilmer Windows was to under go rapid growth in the coming years to include a Crewe based showroom covering then not only Staffordshire and the Leek and Moorlands area, but Crewe and Cheshire. Alan will probably be best known throughout Staffordshire for his jingle on the local radio ....................here it comes.................... “Wilmer..... Wilmer Windows”

Colourfast Windows and Wilmer Windows formed a partnership in 2000 with a joint joint goal to ensure that both companies serviced their respective geographic areas with quality products at competitive prices. The merger of the two companies ensured the future of both through difficult trading times which witnessed many well established companies falling by the wayside. The two companies decided to Manufacture from one site in Staveley under the watchful eye of Eric Hollingworth and their sales led operation would remain with it’s focus in Crewe under the guidance of Alan Wilmer.

Colourfast and Wilmer traded successfuly for several years tripling turnover and employing over 50 time served people.

Alan sadly retired in 2007 and Diane Mcdaid, who had supported Alan as a Marketing Executive, took on the partnership with Eric Hollingworth to ensure that the two companies continued to trade.

The two companies have scaled back their operations and no longer manufacture their own products but this has by no means involved a scale back in service or the supply of quality products to it’s customers. Significant developments have been witnessed in the manufacture of products in recent years leading to new and innovative products appearing in the market place. Eric Hollingworth and Eric Weston, the General Manager of Wilmer, are both well positioned to ensure that these cutting edge products are supplied to their customers, including energy saving systems, and security systems. All products undergo rigorous tests under the watchful eyes of the two Erics prior to dispatch to customers. What these two don’t know about the industry is, in the words of the old saying, not worth knowing. Trust them to know the right product for you !

Eric Weston is a time served bench joiner and site surveyor of some 8 years and a window and door fabricator for 7 years. He brought his wealth of knowledge to Wilmer in 1996 and still remains at the helm as General Manager for Wilmer; he always has a can do attitude to any project; the more difficult the better is Eric’s motto. He thrives on completing the task to the optimum conclusion.

Caroline Insey is the voice of Wilmer Windows as the Service and Installations Manager. She joined Wilmer in 2003 and her knowledge of the industry puts most of her peers to shame, a go getter and doer Caroline makes the most complex task look easy. Her customer focused attitude is a credit to her!

Darren Chatterton is the Head of Sales for Wilmer who joined the company in 2003 having worked in the industry for most of his adult life. His pursuit of the right product at the right price is second to none as indeed are his customer service skills.

There are two fitting teams at Wilmer with combined service in the industry spanning 30 years. They are staffed with time served trades people who care passionately about the end result. They operate under the watchful eye of Robert Ball who ensures tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner to the utmost satisfaction of the customer; if a job's worth doing it’s worth doing right is Rob’s attitude to all he does! Brian Wood is the surveyor at Wilmer, a true professional in all that he does with a wealth of experience in the industry. Brian knows his onions so to speak, or in this case his conservatories; from planning to completion his knowledge is second to none. Trust in his guidance and you won’t go far wrong !
